I would rather own a company growing 4% to 5% a year with a 3% dividend yield than pursue an 8% yield from a deteriorating business.

About
Timothy Chubb is an investment strategist and portfolio manager based in Chester County, Pennsylvania, whose work over the past fourteen years has centered on one question: how a disciplined, valuation-anchored investment process can be built, led and explained inside a firm that serves individuals, families and institutions at the same time.
From October 2017 until October 2026, Tim served as Chief Investment Officer of Girard, the wealth management division of Univest Financial Corporation, and from 2022 as its Executive Vice President. In that role he chaired the Girard Investment Committee, which he established when he centralized the firm's investment process under a single formal body, and he oversaw the research and trading teams responsible for manager due diligence, security selection and asset allocation across the platform. He was also lead portfolio manager for the firm's internally managed quality-growth equity strategies, and covered the Healthcare and Communication Services sectors as an analyst throughout.
Tim joined Girard in 2012, when it was still the independent registered investment advisor Girard Partners, after beginning his career at SEI Investments, and he was part of the team that carried the firm through its 2014 acquisition by Univest and its growth from an independent advisory practice into a multibillion-dollar regional wealth platform.
He is a frequent commentator on markets and the economy, with regular appearances on CNBC, Yahoo Finance, Bloomberg and Reuters, and his views have been carried by The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Barron's, Kiplinger, U.S. News & World Report, Schwab Network and Fox Business. The record of those appearances is kept on this site.
Tim holds a B.S. in Finance from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and is a member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia. He was named to the Philadelphia Business Journal's 40 Under 40, serves on the Natixis Advisory Council, sits on the board of the West Chester University Foundation and is Treasurer of the Friars Society Alumni Association. He lives in Chester County with his wife and son.
